Last night I was sooo tired and also I had to be work at 6 am. So I skipped all shows. Also It is really early and I did brief brief write up thingys:
Friday, February 5th
Mississippi Studios is having a show with Y La Bamba, Drew Grow & The Pastors' Wives and Cohen. I play in Y La Bamba. I think we are getting better all the time. Drew Grow and Co. are amazing. The show is $8 and starts at 9 PM
Holocene is having a show with The Dimes, The Ascetic Junkies, Kelli Schaefer, and Goldfinch. Kelli Schafer is so good. The show is $8 and starts at 7:30 PM.
The Artistery is having a show with A Weather, Team Evil, and Pigeons. A Weather are about to release a new album next month called Everyday Balloons. They will surely preview those songs tonight. The ALL AGES show is $6 and starts at 8 PM.
Branx is having Art Party with Permanent Wave, Gottesfinger, DJ Mike McGonial, TJO, Marisa Anderson, and Tender Forever. The Mercury said this, "Jenny Hoyston and Sarah Gottesdiener were already knee-deep in the art and club scenes when they decided to invent Art Party, a new monthly happening kicking off tonight with music (Tara Jane O’Neil), guest DJs (Mike McGonigal of YETI), video installations by Melanie Valera (AKA Tender Forever), dance from Allison Halter, and more" The show is $5 and starts at 9 PM.
The World Famous Kenton Club is having a Haiti Benefit show with Wax Fingers, Gavin Castleton, Wester Daywick, and Holy Tentacles. I want to see Gavin Casteton so bad. Plus it is a good cause. The show is by donation and starts at 9 PM.
The Woods is having a Portland Folk Fest benefit with Dan Bern and The Robinsons (of Viva Voce. I sometimes kinda like The Robinsons better than Viva Voce or Blue Giant. The show is $16-$18 and starts at 9 PM.
If you see me at Mississippi studios please say, "Hi".
-Ben
