ChristmasChristmasChristmas... OMG it's almost XXXmas!!!!!!
So I ask of you, what Portland band would you most want to make a x-mas album? I think I'm gonna choose Here Comes a Big Black Cloud. I see baby Jesus emerging from the womb amid a clatter of feedback and other worldly theramin warbling. Santa dies and returns as an undead monster.
This album would have to be performed live in its entirety on Christmas eve, a Midnight mass. Mass chaos.

My former bandmate Raoul Fish determined that any song can be made into an Xmas song by the addition of sleigh bells. We put that to the test one year at our annual Xmas show by playing a regular set and adding sleigh bells to every song. HA!
That being said, I'd like to see Grouper do a Xmas album with really over-the-top Gene Frankel style sleigh bells on top of her usual reverby drone-y stuff. Holiday gold!
A Grouper sleigh bell album sounds great! I think each song should have a tubular bells intro as well, but perhaps this is going overboard.

Everybody just wait... I'll do a "Dragging A Dead Reindeer Up A Hill" remix tonight to see how it sounds, then we should pool our local music clout and force Mz. Harris to do a sleighbell album.
