On Wednesday, December 3rd, four poets, two emcees, two singers, and a guitar known collectively as Mumbles and the Dust will be presenting a complex, community oriented and, at turns, shocking interactive performance piece at Appendix Art Space in Portland, Oregon as part of their "SoulFeast Wintour." The group blends poetry, music, story-telling and drama to create a unique form of participatory theater that electrifies and engages audience members. Mumbles and the Dust have also recently released an album entitled "Black Cock and Other Fairy Tales*," an amalgamation of spoken word, eclectic beats and rapping that deftly weaves together fantastic, absurdist and political themes. The performance will take place at Appendix Art Project Space between 26th and 27th Avenues on NE Alberta Street, starting at 9:30 PM and will be preceded by a brief show by local Portland musicians Dr. Something & the Poppin' Fresh Love Engines.
