Hello Dear Readers,
As you undoubtedly have noticed, MFNW is in full swing. There are about million shows happening. As you may or may not have heard I am covering the Nike Sports Wear music events that happened yesterday and today. Check out the videos to see how I look decked out in Nike gear. Anyway due to a lack of time and Internet I was not able to post a blog yesterday. Which is a shame because both Sallie Ford and The Thermals played MFNW representing Portland proudly. Today I also kinda have a lack of time, but I want to share some my Portland-centric MFNW picks:
Doug Fir is having Blue Giant play as part of a KEXP show. The show is FREE and Early.
Hawthorne Theatre is having Morning Teleportation (10 PM) and Guidance Counselor. The show is $15.
Holocene is having AU, White Hinterland, Nice Nice(9:30 PM), and Swim Swam Swum (8:30 PM). The show is $10.
Backspace is having Astrology (8 PM). The show is $10
Someday Lounge is having Typhoon (12:30 AM), Y La Bamba (11:30 PM), Jared Mees & The Grown Children (9:30 PM), and Boy Eats Drum Machine (8:30 PM). The show is 10 and starst at 8:30 PM.
Mississippi Studios is having Hosannas (10 PM). The show is $15.
Doug Fir is having Mimicking Birds (10 PM). The show is $15.
Berbati's is having The Builders & The Butchers (1 AM), Richmond Fontaine (11:55 PM), Black Prairie (11 PM), and Old Light (9 PM). THe show is $15.
Some non-MFNW shows:
The Press Club is having Ezza Rose, Kelly Blair Bauman, Luminous Things, and Tod Morrisey. Ths show is FREE and starts at 8:30 PM.
Branx is having a show with The Harvey Girls, The Grapefruit League and Wishyunu. The show starts at 10 PM.
So if you see me at any of these shows, and you might, please say "Hi". Sorry I didn't have time to go into detail. I will get back to a normal blogging pace very soon. I promise.
-Ben
