First is Loch Lomond's 'Trumpets for Paper Children'. Loch Lomond has always been a great Portland band, possessing an almost unmatchable sound. The 7 sometimes 8 member orchestral band produces waves of fresh sounds and delightful little melodies that you're ear can't help but agree with. Their vocals, guitars, vibes, percussion and string instruments came together to produce the free EP that you see above that is available (with donation suggested and I highly support donating to Loch Lomond, it's a mere 2.49) off of Hush Records.
Second is Ethan Rose's sophomore release which can be purchased off of Holocene Music. Ethan Rose is one of the newer shining gems to come out of Portland, whose music is being hailed by Pitchfork, The New York Times and XLR8R as some of the most 'incomparably beautiful' music to come out of the northwest. Without a doubt worth paying for. For a sample of his music click here.

Hi Dylan. That Loch Lomond thing is cool. The EP is a great introduction to the band. It has songs from their last two full lengths and I think a new one.
I can't wait fort the Ethan Rose collaboration with Laura Gibson that is supposed to come out later this year. Did you happen to see the Oaks Park performance of Ethan's album. I wanted to go so badly but was unable to attend.
