While the Hooliganship video looks awesome, it has components of things I hate about indie rock: hipsters in ill-fitting hoodies, bad moustaches w/ big (potentially non-prescription) glasses, and a thematic ripoff of a Raffi song.
Von Hummer... what can you say about the guy. He filmed the video for "Flip A Bitch" near my old house and has lobsters on his head. His 'A' instrument is bass, like Seal and Meshell and Barry Adamson. Plus this PSA is pretty much a perfect illustration of some of Adorno's theories on the relationship of art to the gravity of the emotional experience that produces it. With a knowing wink. So I don't think there's any question.

This is so close. But Hooliganship had dancing Pizza, so they win in my book.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if VonHummer's head lobsters could eat the dancing pizza person.

Both videos were decidedly awesome, but I have to choose Hooliganship because, um, DANCING PIZZA WTF.
